Today’s Trailway News is the last one of summer, and we are already looking forward to crunching the leaves that carpet the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) this fall. Warner & Kaine Reintroduce Bill to Make FERC Pipeline Permitting Process More Transparent and Fair
Our sincere thanks go to U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine for reintroducing the Pipeline Fairness, Transparency, and Responsible Development Act in Congress yesterday. This legislation strengthens the public’s ability to evaluate the impacts of and provide input on natural gas pipelines being considered by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and bolsters protections for National Scenic Trails like the A.T.
Our Annual Membership Meeting is Just Two Weeks Away
The 2022 ATC Membership Meeting will take place on October 1, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. EDT. We will discuss the successes and future of the ATC and the A.T., and announce the results of our Board of Directors election. All members in good standing will receive an email next week with a link to cast their votes.

Trail Updates
The side trails, camping areas, and privies for Brassie Brook and Riga Shelters (NOBO miles 1,507.1 and 1,508.3) will be closed tomorrow, September 17, from 8:30 a.m. until about 5 p.m., or when construction ends for the day.
