Trailway News: Rescuing the Planet
As we continue our work to maintain, protect, and advocate for the Appalachian Trail, one of our key priorities is keeping you informed on the issues affecting the footpath and its surrounding landscape. On June 10 at 7 p.m. EDT, we are proud to present our next live discussion: “Rescuing the Planet: The Appalachian Trail’s Role in Worldwide Conservation.” Featuring author Tony Hiss and conservationist John Griffin, we will explore how conserving lands like the A.T. will play an important role in the future of our planet.

Bennington Celebrates A.T. Community Designation
The Town of Bennington, Vermont, invites you to celebrate its designation as the newest A.T. CommunityTM on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 6 p.m. EDT. This virtual ceremony will feature U.S. Representative Peter Welch as the keynote speaker. Additional speakers will include several local spokespersons, state and local officials, and partnering organizations that work to preserve and maintain the A.T. and Long Trail, including the National Park Service, the ATC, the Green Mountain National Forest Service, and the Green Mountain Club.
This official designation will be held via Zoom, so register to attend today!
