The small footbridge over Sandy River just north of ME Route 4 has been washed out (NOBO mile 1,976.9). Hikers should use caution and plan accordingly as the Appalachian Trail here may be impassable due to the washout until volunteers with the Maine Appalachian Trail Club (MATC) replace the bridge this spring.
