The lower portion of the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) Approach Trail in Amicalola Falls State Park will be closed for several months starting on November 20 for construction. The Approach Trail will be closed from where it crosses the Top of the Falls Road by Shelter 4 to just below the falls, including the reflection pool parking area at the base of the falls.
Visitors planning to use the Approach Trail to access the A.T. will need to take either the East Ridge Trail from the stone arch or cross the street from the visitor center and make their way to the West Ridge Trail. See a map below (the Approach Trail is the green trail).
