Share Your Radical Generosity for the A.T. this Giving TRAILsday!

Since 2012, GivingTuesday has been celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to inspire generosity around the world and make giving back part of our everyday lives.
The Appalachian National Scenic Trail exists today for the enjoyment of millions thanks to countless people who have generously given their time, talents, and resources to help care for “The People’s Trail.” Every act of generosity matters because it helps preserve and enhance the A.T. experience.
As the sole nonprofit dedicated to protecting, managing, and advocating for every mile of the A.T., the Appalachian Trail Conservancy is taking our own spin on this special day, renaming it Giving TRAILsday. We’re also giving you, the A.T. community, a chance to make your generosity go even further.
Starting Tuesday, November 21, through midnight on Giving TRAILsday—Tuesday, November 28—all online donations to the ATC will be matched* thanks to a generous commitment from our Board of Directors. That means your radical generosity will have 2x the positive impact for the A.T.
How will your Giving TRAILsday donation benefit the Trail?
Your doubled gift will fuel the ATC’s essential work to:
- Maintain, update, and improve Trail features from Geogia to Maine, like bridges, shelters, trailheads, and sections impacted by the floods of 2023.
- Protect and restore native and threatened habitats, like at the ATC’s recently created McAfee Vista Preserve and ongoing spruce fir forest restoration efforts.
- Enable the protection of key lands for reroutes of under-protected sections.
- Remove invasive species and halt A.T. encroachment.
- Provide timely and valuable hiker resources as well as volunteer training and educational opportunities.
And that’s just a snapshot of the projects we have in the works.
