Trailway News: Connected by the Trail

Around the world, billions of people will celebrate Earth Day (April 22) together by taking action to help our planet. From picking up trash to participating in volunteer events to planting native grasses and wildflowers, small actions can help make the planet and the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) better for all.

In Other News…

ATC’s Harpers Ferry Visitor Center  We are open to guests from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (daily). All visitors are welcome at our outdoor information table to receive Trail-related information, pick up 2022 hangtags, and have a photo-op on our front porch. We thank you for your patience while we complete maintenance on the interior of the buildingATC is honored to care for our historic Harpers Ferry headquarters. Built in the 1890s, we take extra care to ensure that hikers long into the future have the opportunity to take a photo with our iconic sign. We look forward to reopening the interior soon.

Flip Flop Festival (April 23-24) – Celebrating the A.T. in Harpers Ferry and Boliver, the Festival offers something for everyone! Some of the weekend’s scheduled events include hiker workshops hosted by the ATC, pack shakedowns by two Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) ridgerunners, live music, and a keynote presentation by Therese “Bangles” Coad. Check out flipflopfestival.org for more information.
