Tom Mullin has had a passion for the Appalachian Trail and wild places his whole life. From hiking in the Shenandoah Mountains with his father as a child, completing a thruhike in 1987, to annual forays in Baxter State Park, it has been a treasured core experience. Currently he is the Executive Director of the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed in central Maine and previously was on the faculty of Unity College as a professor of Parks and Forest Resources. A lifelong passion for ensuring wise stewardship of the Trail for generations to come is one of the reasons he is pleased to serve on the Stewardship Council’s Resource Management Committee, advising the staff and board of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
