Next Generation Advisory Council Member
Originally from Maryland, Sophie is a current Environmental Policy student at the University of Colorado Boulder. Through her graduate capstone project, she has been working closely with the Colorado Office of the Trust for Public Land to advance public space and active transportation policies and highlight their role in health and social equity. Previously she has worked closely in both the non-profit and governmental fields in research, program support, and science advocacy. Her interest in working with policies at the intersection of public land, environmental quality, and social equity began as an undergraduate Biology major at Virginia Tech. Living in Blacksburg, VA Sophie got to experience the benefits of living near the Appalachian Trail and is committed to ensuring that everyone can feel welcome to form their own connections with the trail.
