Jim Foster (Early Bird) left a career in corporate law to thru-hike the A.T. in 2007. After that, he served in various leadership roles with the Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Club, including President. Jim has personally maintained a section of the A.T. since 2005. He is currently Chair of the A.T. Section Committee of Keystone Trails Association, which supervises KTA’s section of the Trail. An active volunteer with the Appalachian Trail Museum, Jim chairs the Hall of Fame selection committee and Banquet committee. Jim has served on the Pennsylvania DCNR Trails Advisory Committee and the PA A.T. Committee, and currently serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Hunting, Fishing and Conservation. Jim lives with his wife Tracey in suburban Harrisburg, PA.
