Jake is the Program Support Specialist for both the VARO and SORO regions of the Appalachian Trail. Based in Asheville, NC, he works across multiple program areas to support ATC staff, regional land managers, and AT clubs from GA to Virginia.

Jake earned a Bachelor’s of Science from Appalachian State University before moving to Asheville in 2015. After working multiple years in the mental health field, Jake shifted his focus to environmental education. He worked with MobilizeGreen, helping coordinate multiple Youth Conservation Corp programs across a variety of states. He also spent his free time volunteering with the Caroline Mountain Club, completing trail projects along the AT and Mountains-to Sea-trail. In his free time, Jake enjoys exploring the vast trail network throughout western NC with his wife, along with the occasional round of disc golf.
