Deidra N. Goodwin

Next Generation Advisory Council Member

Growing up in the flat lands of Florida, Deidra fell in love with the trail community while volunteering at the ATC Headquarters in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Being drawn to Appalachia, Deidra now lives in Asheville, NC and is excited to continue to connect with the Trail, the broader community and serve as a council member. Deidra is a two-time alum of the Student Conservation Association and served on the ATC’s MidAtlantic Trail Crew in 2018. Participating in the 2016 Grand Teton National Park Service Academy sparked Deidra’s interest in truly creating an outdoors for all. Facilitation and adventure education have taught Deidra that the outdoors is an infinite zone for learning, healing, and personal growth. As such, she believes that it is of the utmost importance to conservation of these spaces, that everyone is able to form their own connection with a space.
