You can contribute to supporting the Trail by helping to care for, steward, and maintain it!

There are a variety of ways for people to volunteer in support of the Appalachian Trail. The on-Trail maintenance that takes place, thanks to the hard work of thousands of individuals, is essential work that helps to increase positive experiences for visitors and ensure the Trail and its benefits are available for generations to come.

Join the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club (GATC) on Saturday, December 18 in Suches, Georgia for one of their monthly trail maintenance excursions and help make a difference on the A.T. in Georgia.

Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water and snacks for the day, lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, a rain jacket and personal work gloves, as well as a mask and hand sanitizer!

Advanced registration necessary. Please register for this event by clicking the “Register” button below and filling out the following form. This in-person work trip only accepts volunteers with a current domestic mailing address. Any registration that does not meet that requirement will be canceled. If you reside outside of the United States and aspire to volunteer on the Appalachian Trail, please follow this link for information and guidance.
