2024 Emerging Leaders’ Summit

The 2024 Emerging Leaders’ Summit will be held August, 2-4, in New Jersey

The ATC’s Emerging Leaders’ Summit (ELS) offers participants ages 18-30 trainings, workshops, and experiences with a focus on building skills and community through the lens of the Appalachian Trail.

This year’s Summit will be held at the New Jersey School of Conservation, in Sandyston, New Jersey, August 2-4, 2024.

  • Connect with ATC leaders and summit participants
  • Learn about Trail Stewardship and Conservation
  • Be Inspired through reflection and creative expression

ATC’s commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) aspires to cultivate greater strength and resilience within and beyond the organization as we work to manage and protect the Appalachian Trail and the surrounding natural resources.

The application period for the 2024 Summit is now closed, please check back in the Spring of 2025 for information about the next Emerging Leaders Summit.

Who Should Apply for the Summit?

  • Young Adults, Ages 18 to 30
  • Representing different education levels and work experience
  • Interested in learning about Appalachian Trail Stewardship
  • Passionate about empowering others to make the outdoors and the Appalachian Trail a welcoming place for all
  • Varying levels of outdoor experience
  • Looking to build community through shared learning and experience

*Priority will be given to those residing in the eastern United States.
