Leysha Caraballo
Next Generation Advisory Council Member
Leysha is a Digital Project Manager at Mission Wired, a progressive digital fundraising firm in Washington, D.C. She has worked on email and ad campaigns for Mercy Corps, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Friends of the Earth, Save the Children, and others. She attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for undergrad and received degrees in Environmental Studies, Communications with a concentration in International Public Relations, and Spanish. During undergrad, she interned with Greenpeace for a summer, was Treasurer of Charlotte Green Initiative, and worked on a zero waste strategic communications plan for the University of New Hampshire’s residence halls as a Sustainability Fellow.
Her first backpacking experience was in the Absaroka Range in Wyoming with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) as an incoming college freshman. That month-long experience gave her the confidence and desire to continue hiking in the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina and Virginia. Leysha hopes to help introduce and foster a love of the outdoors to new faces, just as it was introduced to her.
