Dan Ryan

Vice President of Conservation and Government Relations

Prior to joining the ATC, Dan served as the Director of Conservation for the Georgia Chapter of The Nature Conservancy (TNC), based in Atlanta. While in this role, he oversaw the work of a large, diverse, and geographically dispersed team focused on protecting the region’s lands, water, & oceans and tackling climate change.

Dan spent more than a decade with the North Carolina Chapter of TNC building its longleaf pine conservation program, for which he was awarded the Governor’s Conservation Achievement Award as Forest Conservationist of the Year. He also worked for two land trusts and is a proud Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, serving as an agroforestry volunteer in Bolivia.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from the University of North Carolina Asheville and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
