A.T. License Plates
With the purchase of a specialty A.T. plate in your state, a portion of the cost of the plate is returned to the ATC for its work to manage and maintain the A.T.
Pennsylvania A.T. License Plate
The Pennsylvania ATC Specialty license plate is now available! Personalization of the license plate is available with five letters or numbers in combination. There is a one-time plate fee of $92, with an additional plate fee for any personalization. A disabled symbol is also available.
As a revenue-sharing plate, $60 of the fee is transferred to Appalachian Trail Conservancy to help support our mission.

Virginia A.T. License Plate
Now Available at Virginia DMV. Personalization of the license plate is available. Six (6) characters available on plate. Plate Fee (in addition to registration fee) is $25 annually, and a personalized plate is an additional $10 annually. A disabled symbol is also available with this plate.
As a revenue-sharing plate, $15 of the $25 fee is transferred to Appalachian Trail Conservancy after the sale of the first 1,000 plates.

Tennessee A.T. License Plate
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) receives $15.62 annually for each Tennessee specialty A.T. plate purchased or renewed. Since the plate became available in 2010, Tennessee license plate holders have raised over $690,000 for ATC.
Apply for Your A.T. Plate
Apply for your plate by visiting your Tennessee County Clerk office and requesting the Appalachian Trail specialty plate. In addition to the regular vehicle registration fee, a standard, numerical A.T. license plate costs $35. A personalized plate costs $70.
Tennessee A.T. License Plate Grant Program
Each year, the ATC uses funds from the sale of Tennessee A.T. license plates to provide grants to organizations and individuals who are working to help fulfill the ATC’s mission within the state of Tennessee and along its common border with North Carolina. Since 2012, over $135,000 has been awarded to grant recipients working on a wide variety of A.T.-related projects. North Carolina A.T. License Plate
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) receives $20 annually for each North Carolina specialty A.T. plate purchased or renewed. Since the plate became available in 2005, North Carolina license plate holders have raised over $1,872,000 for the ATC.
The first of the A.T. specialty plates, the North Carolina plate was made possible by the years of work contributed by New Bern, NC attorney and ATC member Clark Wright, who initiated this vision and worked tirelessly to bring it to fruition. Clark’s vision became reality with the help of hiker and State Senator Joe Sam Queen of Waynesville, NC, who sponsored the legislation which created the tag, and the invaluable information and assistance provided by Kay Hatcher of the Department of Motor Vehicles Specialty Tag Office in Raleigh, NC.
Apply for Your A.T. Plate
Apply for your plate through the North Carolina DMV website by ordering the “Friends of the Appalachian Trail” plate. In addition to the regular vehicle registration fee, a standard, numerical A.T. license plate costs $30. A personalized plate costs $60. The ATC receives $20 for each plate purchased or renewed, and the other $10 is spent by the state through the Special Registration Plate Account, which funds visitor centers and wildflower highway beautification projects.
As a thank you for purchasing your North Carolina A.T. specialty plate, you will be eligible for a free one-time annual ATC membership, which includes an ATC decal, patch and membership card, A.T. Journeys (a quarterly magazine of the ATC) and discounts at the Ultimate Appalachian Trail Store. Information on redeeming your membership will arrive in the mail with your license plate. If you are already an ATC member, you can use your free membership in the form of a gift membership for a friend or family member.

Georgia A.T. License Plate
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) receives $10 annually for each Georgia specialty A.T. plate purchased or renewed. Since the plate became available in 2013, Georgia license plate holders have raised over $490,000 for ATC.
Apply for Your A.T. Plate
Apply for your plate by visiting your local Tax Commissioner’s tag office, or by choosing the “Appalachian Trail Conservancy of Georgia” specialty plate when you renew your registration online. In addition to the regular vehicle registration fees, a standard, numerical A.T. license plate costs $35. There is also a one-time manufacturing fee of $25 when you first purchase your tag.
