Essential Trail Maintenance – Training Modules
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy developed these training resources on essential maintenance for people interested in caring for the Appalachian Trail, and provides instruction resources for trainers within its staff and A.T. Clubs. New and existing volunteers can benefit from becoming acquainted or refreshing familiarity with the standards to which the Trail should be managed.

To train others in Essential Trail Maintenance, please be sure you have taken the three modules of the ATC’s Field Leadership Training:
Field Leadership Module 1 (online): Volunteer Recruitment
Field Leadership Module 2 (online): Basics of Project Planning
Field Leadership Module 3: In Person Training. This is available to a group of 5 or more within an A.T. Club. Make an inquiry.
