Tell Your Representative to Join the A.T. Caucus

The ATC works every day to advance the preservation and maintenance of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail (A.T.). A vital component of our work is ensuring our U.S. Representatives know what is important for all A.T. users and the protection of the unique Trail experience.

Since 2018, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail Caucus — or A.T. Caucus — has provided a convening space for Members of Congress who are enthusiastic about the Trail. Co-chaired by Representatives Don Beyer (D-VA) and Tim Burchett (R-TN), the A.T. Caucus works directly with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) to help members stay informed on the latest Trail issues and know which bills and hearings in Congress are of special importance to the Trail and our A.T. Communities from Maine to Georgia.

The Caucus, like the A.T., is non-partisan. The only requirements for membership are serving in the U.S. House and being passionate about the A.T. Our Representatives come from all walks of life and have a variety of experiences that inform how they work for the greater good. When ATC advises Caucus members, it is to promote sustainable public lands management, encourage volunteerism, advocate for the A.T. landscape and promote the value of outdoor recreation in rural economic development.

These are the current members of the A.T. Caucus:
