Appalachian Trail Resiliency Fund

Hurricane Helene is the largest natural disaster the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) has faced in its 100-year history. While assessing the full scale and severity of damage to the Trail will take time, one-third of the entire A.T. was in the storm’s path. The work ahead to reconnect the A.T. and restore the surrounding landscape will require support for Trailside communities, robust volunteer recruitment and training, and ongoing coordination by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC).

Your donation will provide the crucial resources needed to respond quickly to the damage left by Hurricane Helene along the Appalachian Trail (A.T.), create more resilient treadway and Trail features, restore the surrounding landscape, and protect this national treasure for generations to come.

November 2024 Update: The match for the Appalachian Trail Resiliency Fund has been met! We are grateful for the outpouring of support to rebuild and rehabilitate the Trail and its landscapes. There is still more work to do to fully reconnect the A.T., and the continued generosity from our community is essential to advancing these efforts.
