In order to continue restoration work at Max Patch and protect the work that has been completed, Pisgah National Forest has renewed the camping closure and use restrictions on Max Patch through June 2029.

Pisgah National Forest has issued a two-year camping closure at Max Patch, a popular destination on the Appalachian Trail. These added restrictions will be in place until June 30, 2023.
