New York: Dover Oak Trailhead Access

The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced that a 0.25 mile section of West Dover Road/County Road 20 just north of where the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) crosses will be closed from Thursday, July 23rd through Sunday, August 9th, 2026 for a film production (NOBO mile 1,452.5).  The film production is a closed set, and the road will be re-opened to all traffic on Monday, August 10th.

The A.T. through the area will remain open. Visitors will have to access the trailhead from the south (from Pawling). This includes access by vehicle to the Dover Oak.
