The Cold Springs Fire is a wildfire burning off of Cold Springs Road, near the Harmon Den exit off of I-40 in Haywood County, North Carolina. The fire is currently at 60% containment. There is currently no threat to the Appalachian Trail (A.T.), but Cold Springs Road is closed from I-40 to Browns Gap Road, which means that visitors will not be able to drive to Max Patch from this direction.

Visitors should find an alternative route to this popular A.T. destination. The road is closed for firefighter and public safety. We will update this notice with more information as we receive it.
