Connecticut: Limestone Spring Shelter Closed

Limestone Spring Shelter is closed due to a damaged tree from the recent storms (NOBO mile 1,503.6). A large maple tree snapped during the storm and is now hanging just above the front of the shelter. This tree could fall at anytime, making it extremely dangerous.
Hikers should avoid the shelter until the tree can be removed. Camping near the shelter (away from the tree) and the privy remain open.
Always look up before stopping or choosing a campsite on the A.T., and avoid stopping under damaged, diseased, or leaning standing trees. We will update this notice with more information as we receive it.
