Claire Krotoski
Non-Native Invasive Species Coordinator, Virginia
Claire is based out of the Virginia Regional Office in Roanoke, VA. While originally from California, Claire quickly fell in love with Virginia and the Appalachian Trail when attending Virginia Tech for a B.S. in Ecological Restoration.
As a Non-native Invasive Species Coordinator, Claire’s role involves surveying for and managing invasive species, working with partners, and helping to control invasives in the state. Claire has a lifelong passion for plants and being outside hiking, walking, camping, and identifying fun species. She has worked in various field work based roles doing wetland work, studying invasives, promoting native biodiversity, and connecting people who are passionate about the outdoors. While she is excited to work with invasives, seeing native plants, rare or not, always brings her joy.
When she’s not working or outside, you can find her foraging, identifying plants for fun, illustrating plants, crafting, or reading a good book.
