Briana Apgar

Next Generation Advisory Council Member

Briana’s alma mater for her undergraduate degree and Master of Public Health is Virginia Tech. Most recently, she is pursuing her MBA through the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Her career focus is health equity and community resilience, and she currently serves as Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Consultant for Carilion Clinic. She looks to make positive strides in both internal employee culture and policies as well as through external community relations and outreach. Briana believes that a zip code is just as important, if not more important, than a genetic code in determining our health outcomes. Thus, she works to ensure that neighbors have what they need in order to attain their human right of good health. For this reason, bringing newcomers onto the Appalachian Trail of all ages and abilities is deeply important to her.Briana loves sharing her passion for the Trail for both sound body and sound mind. She is so excited to deepen this work and make new friendships with the ATC and Next Generation!
