Althea Collier
Next Generation Advisory Council Member

Althea Collier is currently an undergraduate student at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine where she is studying Human Ecology, the study of the physical, psychological and cultural relationship between humans and their natural and built environments.
Her deep passion for environmental policy was awakened at a young age hiking, camping and backpacking with her dad and Girl Scout Troop in New York. She fell in love with the Appalachian Trail when she was in high school and she thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2022. She is a member of the Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association, and has volunteered with the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference.
She hopes to inspire her generation to be more involved with their local trails, parks and community organizations in pursuit of conservation and environmental justice.
