Hike Description

  1. Follow the A.T. northbound from the far end of the parking lot, turning left off a woods road to continue on the A.T. across a brook.
  2. Continue on the A.T., ascending steadily alongside Bromley Brook. At mile 2, arrive at the junction for the Bromley Shelter, a two-story shelter with a closed picnic area and privy.
  3. Continue on the Trail for another 0.3 mile, when you’ll hit a junction where a short spur trail leads to a rocky outcropping. Take in the sweeping views of the mountains across the valley to the south.
  4. At mile 2.7, the A.T. leaves the woods and follows a Bromley Ski Resort ski trail for the rest of the way to the summit. Looking back, you can take in even more views. The ski trail ascends more steeply, and hikers are exposed from here to the summit.
  5. The summit features a ski lift, a warming hut, and a new metal fire tower for 360 degree views.
  6. Turn around and retrace your steps back to the parking lot.
