There are many ways to give! Yes. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 52-6046689), and your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a tax receipt for your records.
Absolutely. Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to honor someone’s connection to the Appalachian Trail. You can choose to notify a recipient of your gift with a mailed or emailed card, and larger tribute gifts may be eligible for a commemorative brick in our Tribute Garden.
Tribute GiftsYou can recommend a grant from your donor-advised fund by using our legal name and EIN, and we encourage you to notify us at philanthropy@appalachiantrail.org so we can properly acknowledge your gift and include it in time-sensitive initiatives like our matching campaigns.
Donor-Advised FundsGifts of stock are a tax-efficient way to support the Trail. Please visit our Stock Giving page for transfer instructions, and notify us of your intent so we can ensure proper tracking and acknowledgment.
Stocks & Mutual FundsYes! If you are age 70½ or older, a QCD allows you to make a direct transfer from your IRA to ATC without increasing your taxable income. Learn more on our IRA Giving page or contact philanthropy@appalachiantrail.org for assistance.
Qualified Charitable DonationsMembership starts at just $50 and includes a subscription to A.T. Journeys and exclusive member benefits. You can join or renew online, by mail, or by phone.
