New Jersey School of Conservation | October 9-11, 2026

This year’s theme, The Next Footsteps: Honoring the Legacy. Shaping the Future, invites emerging leaders to explore how they can build upon the Appalachian Trail’s rich history while helping shape its next century of stewardship, conservation, and community.

Who Should Apply for the Summit?

  • Young adults, ages 18 to 30
  • Representing different education levels and work experience
  • Interested in learning about Appalachian Trail Stewardship
  • Passionate about empowering others to make the outdoors and the Appalachian Trail a welcoming place for all
  • Varying levels of outdoor experience
  • Looking to build community through shared learning and experience

*Priority will be given to those residing in the eastern United States.
