The situation is resolved and the Appalachian Trail is now open.

The Appalachian Trail is closed at Stecoah Gap (NOBO mile 150.8) due to an emergency. Emergency personnel are actively working on a developing situation at Stecoah Gap, and all vehicle and foot traffic are currently being rerouted. We will update this alert with more information as we receive it.
