Trail Updates

A major landslide has closed approximately 20 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Roanoke from US Route 460 to VA 43. As a result, the A.T. is not accessible between Salt Pond Road and Bearwallow Gap/VA 43 (NOBO miles 738.1 to 751.9.

ATC Holiday Hours: All ATC offices and visitor centers will be closed from December 24, 2022, through January 2, 2023. We hope you all have a great holiday season!

Amicalola Falls State Park Expansion to Improve Connectivity with the A.T. – Amicalola Falls State Park received one of six new grants as part of Walmart’s Acres for America program. With this opportunity, the State Park will expand to provide additional recreation opportunities, habitat for wildlife, and connectivity to nearby public lands like the A.T.
What Were A.T. Thru-Hikers Like in 2022? – Our friends at TheTrek.co have released the results of their annual thru-hiker survey, providing a snapshot of the class of ’22.
