Massachusetts – Trail Flooding Near Tyringham

Massachusetts
Reroute/Detour

Update

Roughly 1 mile of the A.T. near Tyringham, Massachusetts, is currently flooded from Jerusalem Road (NOBO mile 1543.5) to Tyringham Main Road (NOBO mile 1,544.6). Heavy rain and flooding at nearby Hop Brook relocated a family of beavers closer to the Trail, and the resulting beaver dam has rerouted water directly onto the footpath. We expect this water to recede shortly and for the beaver family to move back to their original homes. While this section is not closed, hikers can avoid getting their feet wet by following the alternative route below.
