Kayla Carter

Information Service Manager

A lifelong resident of Northeast Tennessee, Kayla graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2011 and obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in bluegrass. After college, she worked as a newspaper reporter for several years before successfully completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2014 with her husband Noah.

These days, you can find her playing cover songs on her ukulele, teaching her dog Harper some new tricks, or selling blackberries grown on her 32-acre farm near Johnson City, TN. She is also an active trail maintainer with the Tennessee Eastman Hiking and Canoeing Club and an alumna of the ATC Next Generation Advisory Council. If you meet her on the trail, be sure to call her by her trail name – Blossom!
