Joe Roman

Joe Roman has worked with the Appalachian Mountain Club since 2012 in the Back Country Campsite Program in varying roles, caretaker, field coordinator, and currently he serves as the Campsite Program and Conservation manager which oversees 14 campsites along the Appalachian Train in the White Mountains NH. He has worked extensively with composting privies of varying types, has been involved in shelter design and construction locally and abroad, as well as trail rehabilitation, construction, and maintenance. Joe is a registered EMT and works as a Team Leader for the AMC’s Sear and Rescue team and teaches Wilderness First Aid for SOLO Schools out of North Conway NH. Joe currently serves as the NERO RPC chair.
