Deidra Goodwin

Deidra Goodwin (she/they) has been an experiential educator since first discovering that it was a thing as a university challenge course facilitator. Since that discovery, she has worked in several capacities in the outdoors: facilitator, trip leader, park ranger, environmental educator, after school program/summer camp coordinator, graduate assistant and commercial zipline guide. Currently, Deidra is the National Park Service Academy coordinator for American Conservation Experience-happily coordinating a program they’re an alum of and working towards a more inclusive and representative future for the National Park Service and public lands. Outside of work, Deidra is an active volunteer with the Association of Experiential Education, the Association of Challenge Course Technology, and the Stewards for Everyone’s Environment Council. In the fall, Deidra will be starting Western Carolina University’s Experiential and Outdoor Education MS program. Deidra’s always excited to talk about all things outdoors, facilitation, professional and leadership development, and dogs. Currently, Deidra shares a home with a hound/American Bulldog mix, a German Shepherd/Weimaraner mix, and a Papillon.
