Chloë de Camara

Trail Education Specialist

Chloë took an abnormal approach to connecting with the A.T. when she wrote her undergraduate thesis on the religiosity of thru-hiking. After she received her diploma, she began volunteering with ATC which led to a seasonal position in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. She completed her own thru-hike of the A.T. in 2015, and hasn’t left the Trail since. Chloë has worked with the ATC for six years educating thousands of hikers on best practices while recreating on the A.T.

She believes in empowering people to hike on the A.T., especially those who had limited access to the outdoors in their youth. Recently she’s begun to work with A.T. Communities, local school systems, and small businesses along the A.T. with the goal of learning how ATC can best support their needs.
