Ashley Irons

A.T. Community Coordinator

Ashley (she/her) is based in Nashville, TN and was lucky to be introduced to hiking on the AT as a young person. After attaining her B.S. in Textile Design at Middle Tennessee State University and working in the garment industry for a decade, she took a chance and attended a National Outdoor Leadership School course focused on Outdoor Education. This pivotal experience rekindled her passion for conservation and a desire to make the outdoors a space where all individuals are welcome to learn about both the natural world and themselves. Since then, Ashley enjoys guiding local hiking and caving trips and has served with Montana Conservation Corps as a Conservation Intern. There she was able to search for new caves, develop management plans, and help map known underground systems. She regularly works at her local public library where she develops engaging S.T.E.M. programming for students and infuses some Leave No Trace ethics when she can. Ashley is an avid caver, hiker, and enjoys taking in the small details of the trail. She is very excited to serve with an organization working towards responsible recreation, stewardship of public lands, and the care of communities impacted by the AT.
