Access to Crater Lake via Blue Mountain Lakes Road (NOBO mile 1,315.3), also called Flatbrookville Stillwater Road and Skyline Drive) is closed from Fridays at dusk to Mondays at noon (except on federal holidays), May 21 to October 2. Hikers can access the Appalachian Trail by parking 1.4 miles west at the Blue Mountain Lakes parking lot and walking the gated road to the Trail crossing.
