Maintaining the Appalachian Trail by clearing fallen trees, cutting back overgrown vegetation from the sides of the Trail, and repainting trail markers, also known as blazes, keeps the Appalachian Trail alive. This is all done by volunteers!
Join the Tidewater Appalachian Trail Club (TATC) on Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17 for a weekend of essential Trail maintenance. Friday and Sunday are travel days.
Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water and food for the weekend, sunscreen, bug spray, as well as a rain jacket and work gloves if you have them. Participants are also expected to bring their own camping equipment, including but not limited to; sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent/hammock.
