Spring Cleaning

LoppersMaintaining the Appalachian Trail after the winter season by clearing fallen trees, cutting back encroaching vegetation from the sides of the Trail, and repainting trail markers, also known as blazes, is essential in keeping the Appalachian Trail alive; and it is all done by volunteers!

Join the BATONA Hiking Club on Saturday, April 25 at 8 a.m. for a day of essential trail maintenance on the Appalachian Trail.

Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water and snacks for the day, lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, as well as a rain jacket and work gloves if you have them.
