Of the 7 Leave No Trace Principles (LNT), the third one is to dispose of waste properly, and to pack out what you pack in. Since hikers aren’t asked to pack out their poo on the A.T. (though some land managers request it), trail maintainers help hikers by building and maintaining privies that provide a sanitary means of composting human waste.
Join the Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club (BMECC) on Sunday, March 29 at 9 a.m. to help with the construction of a new Windsor Furnace privy.
