Join Mount Rogers Appalachian Trail Club on Saturday, June 16 for invasive plant removal at Mount Rogers! This is an opportunity to enjoy a day hike on a beautiful section of the Appalachian Trail while helping remove Autumn Olive and Tree of Heaven from the native ecosystem. All tools will be furnished and no prior experience is required!
Volunteers should wear and sturdy boots. Bring a lunch, plenty of water, sun protection, work gloves, and insect repellant. If possible, please also bring loppers and hand saws.
Please fill out this form to register your participation. There will be a carpool leaving for the worksite from the caboose in Damascus at 9 am, but participants may meet the crew at the worksite at 10 am. The work day will conclude by 1:30 pm.
