Hikers and Trail enthusiasts from near and far are invited to a festive celebration in the A.T. Community of Pearisburg, Virginia!

If you're on your way to Trail Days in Damascus, be sure to stop over in Pearisburg on Thursday, May 18. Hikers enjoying the 2016 Pearisburg Pre GAME event

Schedule of events:

Thursday, May 18:

9-4pm: From Trail to RIVER-Canoeing, Kayaking and Tubing 
Get to know Giles County’s most scenic river in a tube, canoe, or kayak! Let us arrange your trip on the New River and provide you with free a shuttle from our office to one of our local outfitters. At the end of your river experience, a shuttle will be provided back to the Pearisburg Community Market for the rest of the festivities.  Visit Giles County Tourism and Visitor Center, 203 N. Main Street, in Pearisburg (across from the Pearisburg Post Office and Pearis Mercantile) or call Cora Gnegy at 540.921.2079. Please contact by 2pm for activities. Minimal cost for river experience, based on outfitter and vessel.

​4:30-8:30pm: LIVE MUSIC & COOKOUT
Join us for an evening of live music, affordable local food, and MORE on the front lawn at the Pearisburg Community Market as we celebrate the A.T.! Bluegrass music by local talent "Farm Use Only" and food provided by The Smoke Shack.

Sign up for SHUTTLE to DAMASCUS: Visit the Appalachian Trail Conservancy booth at the Pearisburg Community Market to sign up for a shuttle to Damascus Trail Days 2017. Space is limited so we cannot guarantee every hiker a ride, but will do our very best to get everyone there!

Friday, May 19:

8:30-10:30am: Fresh made BREAKFAST
All hikers and friends are invited to an affordable fresh made local breakfast at Alykatz Kitchen, 105 S. Main Street in Pearisburg.

11:00am: SHUTTLE to DAMACUS Trail Days 2016
You MUST preregister for the shuttle service on Thursday, May 18 at the cookout at the Pearisburg Community Market! Shuttle will depart from the Giles COunty visitor Center at 203 N. Main Street
