Northern Resource Management Coordinator
MEET MORE OF OUR TEAM
Marian coordinates Natural Resource programs in the New England and Mid-Atlantic Regions, working with fellow ATC staff, Appalachian Trail Maintaining Clubs and agency partners.
Marian is based out of the Mid-Atlantic Regional office in her hometown of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania. She grew up hiking on the A.T., kayaking on the local creeks and rivers, and caving in the limestone rich Cumberland Valley. She contributes these early outdoor experiences, as well as her high school Biology II professor and a general fascination with the natural world, as the primary influences which led her to a career in the natural sciences.
Marian feels strongly about fostering similar interests in today’s youth, and enjoys working with the ATC’s Citizen Science projects, the Leave No Trace program and the Trail to Every Classroom program. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Juniata College and her Masters in Ecology from the State University of New York - School of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). Between her degrees, Marian spent time at Valley Forge National Historical Park working seasonally on the park’s Whitetail Deer Management Plan and invasive plant research.
